3 Places I Will NEVER Travel

As a seasoned traveler, I’ve had the privilege of exploring many incredible corners of the world. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the serene temples of Kyoto, each destination has left an indelible mark on my soul. But there are a few places on this planet that I’ve decided to steer clear of, and today, I’m going to share those with you.

1. The Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, teeming with life and wonder. However, it’s also a place of immense danger. The rainforest is home to countless venomous snakes, spiders, and insects, and the threat of disease is ever-present. Additionally, the region is plagued by deforestation and illegal wildlife trafficking, contributing to the destruction of this precious ecosystem.

While I admire the beauty and ecological significance of the Amazon, I simply cannot justify putting myself at risk in such a hostile environment. There are other ways to appreciate the rainforest, such as supporting conservation efforts or learning about its unique biodiversity from a safe distance.

2. North Korea

North Korea is a country shrouded in secrecy and oppression. Its authoritarian regime has a long history of human rights abuses, including imprisonment, torture, and forced labor. Traveling to North Korea means supporting this regime and contributing to its coffers. It also means surrendering your freedom and privacy, as tourists are closely monitored and restricted in their movements.

I believe that it’s morally wrong to travel to a country that engages in such egregious human rights violations. Instead of spending my money on a trip to North Korea, I would rather support organizations that are working to improve the lives of its people. There are plenty of other destinations in the world that offer a more fulfilling and ethical travel experience.

3. The Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is a region in the western Atlantic Ocean that has long been associated with mysterious disappearances of ships and aircraft. While there’s no scientific evidence to support the existence of paranormal activity in the area, the sheer number of unexplained incidents has fueled countless myths and legends.

As an avid sailor, I’m fascinated by the mysteries of the sea. However, I’m not one to tempt fate. The Bermuda Triangle is a notoriously treacherous stretch of water, with strong currents, unpredictable weather, and a history of unexplained events. While I wouldn’t rule out a future visit, for now, I’ll stick to safer waters.

Final Thoughts

These are just a few of the places I’ve decided to avoid. My reasons for doing so may vary, but ultimately, it comes down to a combination of personal safety, ethical considerations, and a desire to experience the world in a meaningful and responsible way. It’s important to remember that travel is a privilege, and we should choose our destinations wisely.
