Crafting with Kids: Make Your Own Adorable Angel Ornaments!

Looking for a fun and festive craft to do with your little ones this holiday season? Look no further than these adorable DIY angel ornaments! This easy-to-follow guide will have you and your kids crafting up a storm of personalized angels to adorn your Christmas tree in no time.

What You'll Need:

  • Gold sparkly pipe cleaners
  • Paper doilies (5-8 inches in diameter)
  • Clothespins
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun (always supervise children when using!)
  • Printed photos of your kids' faces
  • Optional: Glitter, sequins, or other embellishments

Let's Get Crafting!

  1. Prepare the Angel Wings: Take two paper doilies and fold each one in half. Then, fold the two corners of each doily behind to create the angel wing shape.
  2. Assemble the Dress: Glue the two folded doilies together, one slightly in front of the other, to create the angel's layered dress.
  3. Attach the Body: Apply hot glue to the back of the angel dress and secure it to the top of a clothespin. Add a dab of glue inside the clothespin to keep it closed.
  4. Add the Face: Carefully cut out your child's face from the printed photo. Attach the photo to the top of the clothespin using a small amount of glue.
  5. Create the Halo: Shape a pipe cleaner into a small circle, twisting the ends together to secure. Trim any excess pipe cleaner.
  6. Attach the Halo: Glue the halo to the back of the clothespin, just above the angel's head.
  7. Personalize and Decorate: Let your kids get creative! Add glitter, sequins, or other embellishments to their angels. They can even draw on the doilies with markers for extra flair.

Tips and Tricks:

  • For younger children, pre-cut the doilies and photos to make the crafting process easier.
  • Use low-temperature hot glue to minimize the risk of burns.
  • Encourage kids to experiment with different colors and decorations to make their angels unique.
