ever found yourself in a situation where you need to move something heavy, but it's just too much for you to handle? well, jessi and squeaks from scishow kids faced a similar challenge when they collected a ton of rocks for their collection. but they didn't let that stop them! they discovered the perfect simple machine to help them out: the wheel and axle.
the wheel and axle: a simple solution
when jessi and squeaks tried to carry the box of rocks back to their fort, they quickly realized it was too heavy. so, they decided to think outside the box (literally) and use a simple machine to make their task easier. they remembered that simple machines can help us do work, and in this case, the wheel and axle was the perfect choice.

the wheel and axle work together to reduce the force needed to move heavy objects. by placing the box of rocks in their wagon, jessi and squeaks were able to pull the box back to their fort with much less effort. this is because the wheel and axle create a mechanical advantage, allowing you to apply less force over a longer distance to move the same amount of weight.
