How to Make a Q-2 Griffon Paper Airplane

The Q-2 Griffon is a unique paper airplane design that creates a three-dimensional shape. It's a fun and engaging activity for people of all ages. Follow these steps to make your own Q-2 Griffon:

Materials

  • One sheet of standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper

Instructions

  1. Fold the paper in half lengthwise. Make a crisp crease down the middle of the paper. Open the paper back up.
  2. Fold the top corners down to the center crease. These folds should be perpendicular to the center crease. Make sure the edges of the paper line up with the center crease.
  3. Fold the top flaps down again. Fold the two flaps you just created down again, but this time fold them in half. The edges should line up with the center crease.
  4. Fold the bottom corners up to the center crease. Fold the bottom left and right corners of the paper up to the center crease. This will create two more flaps.
  5. Fold the bottom flaps up again. Fold the two flaps you just created up again, but this time fold them in half. The edges should line up with the center crease.
  6. Turn the paper over. Flip the paper over so that the flaps you just folded are on the bottom.
  7. Fold the top corners down to the center crease. Fold the top left and right corners of the paper down to the center crease. You will be folding the paper in half again, but this time you will be folding the long side in half.
  8. Fold the top flaps down again. Fold the two flaps you just created down again, but this time fold them in half. The edges should line up with the center crease.
  9. Fold the bottom corners up to the center crease. Fold the bottom left and right corners of the paper up to the center crease. This will create two more flaps.
  10. Fold the bottom flaps up again. Fold the two flaps you just created up again, but this time fold them in half. The edges should line up with the center crease.
  11. Fold the wings back. Fold the two flaps on the bottom back so that they are perpendicular to the body of the plane. These will form the wings of the plane.
  12. Adjust the wings. You can adjust the angle of the wings to change the flight characteristics of the plane.
  13. Launch your plane. Hold the plane by the nose and launch it with a gentle toss.

Tips

  • Use a sharp crease to create a strong and durable plane.
  • Experiment with different paper types to see how it affects the flight.
  • Practice your launch technique to get the best results.

Enjoy flying your Q-2 Griffon paper airplane!
