DIY Automatic Garden Hand Wash Water Dispenser Bottle

Tired of constantly having to find a sink to wash your hands after working in the garden? This DIY project is perfect for gardeners who want a convenient way to wash their hands after working in the garden without making a mess. With just a few simple supplies, you can create your own automatic hand wash water dispenser that will keep your hands clean and your garden looking its best.

Materials

  • 1 plastic bottle (1-liter or larger)
  • 1 syringe (20-30 ml)
  • 1 piece of tubing (about 10 cm long)
  • 1 plastic cup or bowl
  • 1 sharp knife or scissors
  • 1 marker
  • 1 small nail or awl
  • Liquid soap
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bottle. Clean the bottle thoroughly and remove the label. Using the marker, draw a line around the bottle about 2 cm below the top. This will be the line where you will cut the bottle.
  2. Cut the bottle. Carefully cut the bottle along the line you marked. You can use a sharp knife or scissors to do this. Make sure to cut the bottle straight across so that the top and bottom pieces fit together snugly.
  3. Prepare the syringe. Remove the needle from the syringe. Using the small nail or awl, poke a small hole in the top of the syringe plunger. This hole will allow air to enter the syringe as you push down on the plunger, which will create suction and draw water up from the bottle.
  4. Attach the tubing. Cut a small piece of tubing (about 10 cm long). Insert one end of the tubing into the hole you made in the syringe plunger. Secure the tubing by wrapping a small piece of tape around the plunger and tubing.
  5. Attach the syringe to the bottle. Place the syringe into the top of the bottle, making sure that the tubing is hanging down into the bottle. You can use a piece of tape to secure the syringe to the bottle if needed.
  6. Prepare the cup or bowl. Place the cup or bowl underneath the tubing, making sure that the tubing is positioned so that the water will drain into the cup or bowl.
  7. Fill the bottle with water. Add water to the bottle until it is almost full. You can add a few drops of liquid soap to the water if you like.
  8. Test the dispenser. To test the dispenser, simply push down on the syringe plunger. The water should flow out of the tubing and into the cup or bowl.

Tips

  • You can use a variety of different bottle sizes for this project. Just make sure that the bottle is large enough to hold enough water for your needs.
  • If you are using a large bottle, you may need to use a larger syringe to ensure that you can draw up enough water.
  • You can also add a small piece of cloth or sponge to the cup or bowl to help absorb the water and prevent it from splashing.
  • To make the dispenser more durable, you can use a piece of duct tape to secure the syringe to the bottle.

With a little creativity, you can easily create a simple and effective automatic hand wash water dispenser that will make your gardening experience more enjoyable. Enjoy!
