Easy Heart Braid Tutorial for Kids

Braiding hair can be a fun and creative way to style your child’s hair. A heart braid is a cute and simple hairstyle that is perfect for special occasions or just for everyday wear. This tutorial will show you how to braid a heart shape into your child’s hair. It’s easy to follow and perfect for beginners.

What You’ll Need:

  • Hair brush
  • Hair elastics
  • Optional: Hairspray

Instructions:

  1. Start by brushing your child’s hair to remove any tangles.
  2. Divide the hair into two sections, one on each side of the head. Use your fingers to divide the hair from ear to ear, on the top of the head.
  3. On one side of the head, take a small section of hair near the temple and begin braiding it. You can use a three-strand braid or a French braid, whichever you prefer.
  4. As you braid, gradually add more hair to the braid from the side of the head, creating a diagonal braid.
  5. Continue braiding until you reach the back of the head, near the opposite ear.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 on the other side of the head, creating a mirror image of the first braid.
  7. Once both braids are complete, bring them together at the back of the head. The braids should meet at the nape of the neck, forming the bottom point of the heart.
  8. Secure the two braids together with a hair elastic. You can use a small hair elastic to blend in with the hair, or a colorful one for a more playful look.
  9. To complete the heart shape, take a small section of hair from the top of the head, near the center, and braid it. This braid will form the top of the heart.
  10. Secure the braid with a hair elastic. You can tuck this braid underneath the other braid if you wish.
  11. Optional: You can use hairspray to help hold the braids in place and add shine.

Tips:

  • If your child has fine hair, you may want to use a hair gel or serum to help keep the braids in place.
  • For a more elaborate look, you can add beads or ribbons to the braids.
  • Practice makes perfect! Don’t be afraid to try different braiding techniques until you find one that you’re comfortable with.

With a little practice, you’ll be able to braid a heart shape into your child’s hair in no time! This is a fun and easy hairstyle that is sure to turn heads.
