Finding Inspiration: How Mazda and National Geographic Uplift Humanity

We all crave inspiration. Whether it's the thrill of a new adventure, the joy of human connection, or the quiet beauty of the natural world, those uplifting moments make life richer. But what does it truly mean to uplift humanity?

National Geographic, renowned for its breathtaking photography and captivating storytelling, partnered with Mazda to explore this very question. Their collaborative project, Assignment: Uplifted, challenged three talented photographers to capture the essence of human connection and inspiration through their lenses.

Equipped with Mazda CX-30s, these photographers embarked on unique journeys, each focusing on a different facet of uplifting experiences.

One photographer found inspiration in the intergenerational bonds formed between elderly residents of a memory care home and young volunteers from Kids for Peace. The genuine interactions, filled with curiosity and shared laughter, highlighted the power of human connection across age differences.

Another photographer turned to the awe-inspiring world of falconry. At Sky Falconry Ranch, she witnessed the unique connection between humans and birds of prey, capturing the exhilaration and joy on the faces of first-time falconers. The experience underscored the profound impact of connecting with nature and its creatures.

The third photographer found her calling at a therapeutic horseback riding center. Documenting the experiences of children with special needs as they interacted with horses, she captured moments of pure joy and unbridled enthusiasm. The children's courage and the dedication of the volunteers served as a powerful reminder of the human spirit's resilience.

Through their diverse lenses, these photographers showcased the many ways we can uplift and be uplifted. Whether it's through acts of kindness, connecting with nature, or witnessing the strength of the human spirit, these moments remind us of the beauty and resilience that exists in our world.

"Just to watch these children get an experience...to come out and do this thing that they might not otherwise get to do, to just be kids. I could just see how happy they were and how much it meant to them. It was really powerful and heartwarming." - Beth, Assignment: Uplifted Photographer

The Assignment: Uplifted project serves as a powerful reminder that inspiration can be found in the everyday moments, in the connections we forge, and in the beauty that surrounds us. It encourages us to seek out those uplifting experiences, to embrace the power of human connection, and to find inspiration in the world around us.
