How to Make a Paper Airplane Glider: The Rebel
The Rebel is an intermediate-level paper airplane design inspired by the World Record paper airplane. It's a bit more challenging to fold than some basic designs, but the effort is worth it! The Rebel can glide for a surprisingly long distance and is sure to impress your friends.
Materials
- One sheet of standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper (letter size)
Instructions
- Fold the paper in half lengthwise. Make a sharp crease down the center line.
- Fold the top two corners down to the center crease. These folds will create the wings of the plane.
- Fold the top edge down to the center crease. This will form the nose of the plane.
- Fold the top flap up to the top edge. This will create the tail of the plane.
- Fold the wings back along the crease lines. This will give the wings their shape.
- Fold the tail flap down to the bottom edge. This will create the rudder of the plane.
- Fold the nose flap down to the bottom edge. This will create the wingtips of the plane.
- Adjust the wings and tail. You can adjust the angle of the wings and tail to fine-tune the plane's flight characteristics.
Tips for Flying
- Throw the plane with a slight upward angle. This will help the plane gain altitude.
- Use a smooth, gentle throwing motion. Avoid throwing the plane too hard or with a jerky motion.
- Experiment with different throwing angles and speeds. You may need to adjust your throwing technique to get the best results.
