The True Motivation for Righteousness

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:3-4 (NIV)
Jesus encourages us to act with humility and sincerity, seeking God’s approval rather than the approval of others. This principle applies to all areas of our lives, from our charitable giving to our daily interactions.
The Importance of Inner Transformation
The Sermon on the Mount emphasizes the importance of inner transformation. True righteousness is not merely about outward conformity to religious rules but about a deep change in our hearts and minds. When we allow God’s love to shape us, our actions will naturally flow from a place of compassion, generosity, and humility.
