Sticky Icky (Dance-A-Long) – Koo Koo Kanga Roo

Just in time for spring, Koo Koo Kanga Roo has a new dance-along all about bees and honey. Don’t let the title fool you, “Sticky Icky” is about sweet things! This is a great way to include movement into your student’s day while also teaching about plants, gardening, insects, and any number of springtime topics. This might become one of my favorite springtime brain breaks. The lyrics are below the video for your review.

Lyrics

[Intro]
Buzzzzz
Buzz buzz buzz
Honey honey
Honey honey

[Verse 1]
In a – In a – In a jar or a bottle shaped like a bear
I be drip drop drizzlin’ everywhere
On my face, on my hands, elbows, and hair
It’s a tasty mess, I do declare

Like the way the bees go buzz
Like a little bug with fuzz
Drinkin’ all this honey up just because
Gotta give it up for all the bumblebee does

[Chorus]
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Straight from the bees (Bees!)
Sweet fingers like these (These!)
Pop ’em in my mouth with еase (Ease!)
I got honey on my hands
[Verse 2]
I likе it raw, I ain’t talkin’ ’bout meat
Gold color got me feelin’ elite
Once upon a time, found hot sauce – neat!
Now I spend my life making my food sweet

Beekeeper is the name
Keepin’ bees is the game
Say, I am of some acclaim
Big honey fan is my claim to fame

[Chorus]
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Straight from the bees (Bees!)
Sweet fingers like these (These!)
Pop ’em in my mouth with ease (Ease!)
I got honey on my hands

[Verse 3]
I feel at home in this honeycomb
Got me throwing prose in the poem
Hexagonal – six sides – well known
Stare too long and you’re in the zone
What a mess!
But we love you anyway!
Anyday!
Everyway!
Tacky tacky tips – what can I say
Celebratin’ this honey holiday
Buzzzzzzzz!

[Chorus]
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Aw sticky icky, honey on my hands
Honey on my hands
Straight from the bees (Bees!)
Sweet fingers like these (These!)
Pop ’em in my mouth with ease (Ease!)
I got honey on my hands

[Outro]
Protecting those pollinators
Protecting those pollinators
Protecting those pollinators
Protecting those pollinators
Protecting those pollinators
