Jack and the Beanstalk is a favorite classic children’s story. Kids love this energetic tune that parents can use to discuss finding opportunity while exercising restraint when confronted with increasing and dangerous risk. This could apply to many situations in life where people never find happiness or satisfaction no matter what they accomplish. Mostly, this song provides fun kids entertainment.

Jack needed money so that he could buy food.
His mother said, "Jack, go sell the cow."
But Jack traded for some magic beans instead,
And take a look at what's happened now...

(chorus)
Beanstalk, beanstalk growin' up so high.
Beanstalk, beanstalk reachin' to the sky.
Jack climbed the beanstalk,
And much he did find.
He climbed that beanstalk three magical times.

Now when Jack first climbed to the giant's house
He looked around and what did he see?
The giant's gold coins—they caught Jack's eye.
Jack said, "I want these for me."

Jack took the gold coins and down he went.
He gave them to his mom on the ground.
His mother was so pleased with what she saw;
She started jumping up and down.
Mother: Oh Jack, this is FANTASTIC!

Jack and his mother did enjoy the gold coins.
They always had plenty of food,
But then one day no more coins were left.
His mom said, "What will we do?"

(chorus)
Beanstalk, beanstalk growin' up so high.
Beanstalk, beanstalk reachin' to the sky.
Jack climbed the beanstalk,
And much he did find.
He climbed that beanstalk three magical times.

On the second climb Jack saw a wonderful hen.
Gold eggs were what that hen could lay.
Jack grabbed the hen and went back down—
Another great magical day!

But Jack was greedy and he wanted more.
He wondered what else might be up there.
Gold eggs were great and they paid the rent,
But Jack went back without any care.

(chorus)
Beanstalk, beanstalk growin' up so high.
Beanstalk, beanstalk reachin' to the sky.
Jack climbed the beanstalk,
And much he did find.
He climbed that beanstalk three magical times.

The giant's golden harp was what Jack saw.
Jack felt this was what he must have.
He grabbed the golden harp, but the harp cried out,
And awoke the giant up from his nap!

This time the giant was fast on his feet.
Ferociously he chased after Jack.
Jack was so scared, he ran as fast as he could,
But he almost had a heart attack!

The story as you know turns out okay,
But Jack learned all about greed.
Be happy with the things you have,
And don't ever take more than you need.

(chorus)
Beanstalk, beanstalk growin' up so high.
Beanstalk, beanstalk reachin' to the sky.
Jack climbed the beanstalk,
And much he did find.
He climbed that beanstalk three magical times.

Beanstalk, beanstalk
Beanstalk, beanstalk
Jack climbed the beanstalk,
And much he did find.
He climbed that beanstalk three magical times.
