There are three similar words in English that often confuse people: "talk," "speak," and "tell." They are all verbs that describe communication, but they have different uses. "Talk" is general and means to communicate with someone using words. "Speak" is more formal and means to say something out loud. "Tell" is used when you are communicating specific information to someone.
